Received

No's this house was given, not ones it said — refusals aimed at it from outside, and explained rather than fought.

A received no is not a claim this house makes. It is one made about the house, by a reader that answers to words and not to intent, and that cannot be shown the story. It is not hunted and it does not fall: there is no experiment that would kill it, because it was never a wager. It is a wall not to be crossed but explained — and the card is the explanation. Kept, like every no here, with both clauses intact: valid in its layer, void at intent.

The hope is that this room stays small. The expectation is that it does not. A vocabulary that works by being load-bearing will keep reading, from outside, like the thing this house is a museum against — and each time it does, the answer is not to soften the register but to hang the explanation.
